Who you’re dealing with

FamiFotos is made by G Jakob, trading as FamiFotos, Yarra Bend, Gordon Road, Southampton SO32 2BE, United Kingdom (“we”). Contact: support@famifotos.com.

FamiFotos is sold by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our reseller and Merchant of Record, which handles payment, VAT and invoices. Your purchase is also covered by Paddle’s buyer terms.

Free trial

You can use every feature of FamiFotos free for 7 days. When the trial ends, the app asks for a licence; nothing you did during the trial is lost, and the details you saved into your photo files stay in them whether or not you buy.

Your licence

When you pay, you get a personal, non-transferable licence to use FamiFotos on one Mac that you own or control. You may move it to a new Mac — just stop using it on the old one.

• The price is one payment, with no subscription.
• Your licence includes free updates for 12 months from purchase. After that, you can keep using the version you have, for as long as it runs on your Mac.
• You may not copy, share, resell or rent the app or your licence key, or try to work around the licence.

Your photos and information

Everything you put into FamiFotos — your photos, names, dates, stories and family tree — remains yours. We claim no rights over it, and the app keeps it on your Mac (see our privacy policy). You’re responsible for having the right to use the photos and information you add, and for respecting the privacy of living relatives when you share.

Keep a backup

FamiFotos is careful with your files: it works on its own copies, keeps the untouched original of any photo you edit, and sends anything removed to the Bin. Even so, computers fail. Please keep a backup of your archive folder, for example with Time Machine or on an external drive.

Refunds

If FamiFotos isn’t right for you, you can have a full refund within 30 days of buying it. See our refund policy.

Your legal rights

If you’re buying as a consumer, you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — for example, that the app is as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.

Our responsibility to you

We’ll provide FamiFotos with reasonable care and skill. If something goes wrong because we broke these terms, we’re responsible for loss you could reasonably have expected at the time you bought it. We’re not responsible for loss that wasn’t foreseeable, for business losses (FamiFotos is for personal use), or for problems caused by your Mac, other apps or services such as Google Photos or Netlify.

Except where the law says otherwise, our total responsibility to you is limited to the price you paid. We don’t limit our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.

Other services

Some features connect to services you choose to use — Google Photos, Netlify, Apple Photos, Claude or ChatGPT. Those services have their own terms, and we don’t control them or guarantee they’ll keep working the same way.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the app gains new features. The version that applies is the one shown when you bought or last updated FamiFotos. We’ll show the date of the latest version at the top of this page.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you have a problem, please email us first — we’d much rather put it right.
