FamiPoster

A family tree poster, ready to print — one line of descent, with the brothers and sisters at every generation.

1 · Your family

Open a GEDCOM file exported from Ancestry, Findmypast, MyHeritage, FamilySearch or your family tree program. It's read here in your browser and never uploaded.

2 · Whose line?

Choose the earliest ancestor and the descendant the poster ends with. Brothers and sisters are shown at every generation.

From (the earliest ancestor) To (the most recent person)

3 · Title and words

Title Under the title (a place, a house name…) A few words at the top (optional) A line at the foot (optional)

4 · People

Change any name, date or job; add a note, a house name or a move between generations. Click a picture on the poster to change it.

5 · Look

Paper Pictures of the people on the line Pictures of brothers and sisters too Full dates for the people on the line (15 July 1862), not just years Show the children of the last person People who may still be living

Born in the last 100 years with no death recorded counts as living. Full dates of birth of living people are what banks and online accounts ask for: fine on a poster for your own wall, but leave them off anything that might be photographed and shared online.

6 · Print or save

In the print window choose Paper size: A2, scale 100%, no margins. To save a PDF for a print shop, choose PDF → Save as PDF (Mac) or Microsoft Print to PDF (Windows). Chrome and Edge pick the paper size for you.
